The brightest star can not be seen if its light is not reflected. The light has to travel and be radiated.
As humans we need to reflect our maker. If there are positive people around us they w

SHINE: To give forth or glow with light; to be bright with reflected light; glisten sparkle

Let’s start with stars and why and how they shine; A star is a massive, luminous sphere of plasma held together by gravity. The nearest star to Earth is the Sun, which is the source of most of the energy on the planet. No one knows how many stars exist, but the number would be staggering. Our universe likely contains more than 100 billion galaxies, and each of those galaxies may have more than 100 billion stars.

Some stars have always stood out from the rest. Their brightness is a factor of how much energy they put out, which is called their luminosity, and also how far away from Earth they are.

Stars in the heavens may also appear to be different colors because their temperatures are not all the same. Hot stars are white or blue, whereas cooler stars appear to have orange or red hues.

No, this is not a science lesson but the shine of literal stars is truly intriguing. The light that emanates from them supplies energy and warmth. As people we have the ability to do this in a figurative sense. Even though it is a figurative shine it has verisimilitude. The shine can be almost felt and seen as in the glow of a pregnant woman or a person that is in love. Like stars, some of us stand out from the rest, our brightness is a factor of how much energy we put out and if we can be seen. We also have different colors and hues.

It is my hope that this series, SHINE will help us to continue in our personal growth. SHINE is a phraseology that encompasses inner and outer facets of our person and the ability to radiate it. It is meant to help the best to come forth. It is meant to empower.

A sea of a million faces, each one with a story engraved
Some with heroic nature, some with the need to be saved
A cloud of unforgiving & anxious hangs over and threatens to shower
To drown aspirations in terror & snatch away hope’s power
Oh Where is compassion’s umbrella? Is there someone to hold it still?
Drenched in my own insecurities, I quietly say “I will”
Emboldened by love and desire to encourage inspire & embrace
Taken over by love’s good nature, light of truth beams brightly from my face
Hold onto my hand thru my voice , hear it whisper with roses & pain
Relating my past experiences; from sharing I can not refrain
I bathe in the sun of your praises, your love, admiration & gifts
You make me soar much higher build my confidence & my countenance lifts
Raise your hand if you feel my emotion, say I do if you are one with my flow
See there is so much gained from your reaction than you could ever possibly know
My mind is filled with the knowledge that more learning is what I demand
While my heart is filled with gratitude for everything be it minor or grand
My hands shake with nerves & pure energy, my back has withstood hard knock life
As I gaze at your emanated glowing I’m relieved of all trouble & strife
See my trouble heart has given me problems, that’s what I call it , my problem child
Couldn’t behave if my life depended on it which & it does so I’ll be calm & mild
I’m in love with love of my family, my friends, my enemies my foes
What I deal with in turmoil & struggle has sent me places that no one else knows
The passion I feel when I dream when I think when I speak when I write
Takes over my being & symmetry as I pour onto paper at night
As we walk around greeting each other & engage in light conversation
What’s deeper is not brought to the surface, withholding inner self information
As you see I’m an open book, at times I admit to a fault
It’s like living in front of a mirror that reflects everything that I’m taught
See I know that a lesson learned is valuable, no matter how painful the ride
Because within those layers of self & existence your integrity & character are tried
I want you to say of me; when I’m no longer here or deceased
That her words taught me the power of pain, that anxieties must be released
That wearing your heart on your sleeve can be problematic & hurtful at times
But she let go of it all with her poetry her stories and truth – ridden rhymes
That she empowered those weak with her abilities, with her lyrics soothed the aching of their heart
That she was not afraid to say what she was thinking or her triumphs & failures impart
That’s all I could ever ask for, that’s all I ever will need
I feel with a fires intensity when someone else hurts I bleed
Please receive what give in the best way, it always has the best of intention
So many people & things that I’m grateful for far too many to mention
But know this that I’m filled with love, so much so that I’ve overcome
My fear of performance art & showing myself to some
There are vast amounts of persons with their skill & words they give
By the vow to humanity their lead, by it’s credence they are determined to live
I join them in the movement, I believe in words that heal
I believe that you can help someone, if you humbly & honestly reveal
Im aware that the world has heard many voices but they have yet to be empowered by mine, so I will let go of my apprehensions & let it shine, let it shine.

~Something new and different introduced; introduction of new things and methods.~
As you finish self renovations you have certainly experienced innovation. When renovating you shop for new and improved products and methods; Ways that are more efficient. This is your chance to be innovative in your life. Try something new, something you’ve never done. Try something that you’ve always wanted to do but isn’t have the nerve, time or energy. Now you are refreshed and it’s time to take a leap of faith.

Pursue an endeavor that you’ve always wanted take on. Hone your talents or discover a new hobby. Renew a love for something that you once enjoyed. Expand your mind and introduce new ideas. Read book that you’ve always wanted to read. Write a book that you have always wanted to write. Take some classes or go back to college for a degree that you always wanted.

Make goals for your personality and growth. Broaden your vocabulary by learning a new word and introducing it to your vernacular. Take music lessons, learning to play an instrument. Take a cooking class or learn to eat healthier. Endeavor to be more patient and understanding. Have an empathy day; trying to see thru the eyes of someone that you know in difficult circumstances.

Never be afraid to try new things. It is what makes life interesting. Take the opportunity to build a new and improved, more efficient you. Whatever those innovations are, walk in your own truth. What makes someone else better may not be what makes you better. Being new and improved does not mean that you discard your old self. Rather it is the best version of who you always knew or ever dreamt you could be.

There Are Times When Everyone Needs A Place To Hide

I need a place to run and hide
A refuge from my fears
A place to cry and scream out loud
A valley for my tears
I run around and hide my heart
In places no one can see
Shining and glowing
When no one is knowing
The sad and lonely me
Walking around in sunshine
Pretending to be okay
While in the dark of night I suffer
Dreading the light of day
I always hope for tomorrow
To be better, bigger and brave
But at times someone will pilfer
The serenity from my cave
Love can only save me
From hate and vicious means
But how does it fight the apathy
Of ignorant human beings
Of mindless, careless advances
Unaware of nothing but self
Wreaking lowly havoc
Undeserving of compassions wealth
I will not bow to cowards
I will not beg of thieves
I refuse to slave for a master
That bruises but never bleeds
I will continue to build my house
My protective walls and space
And no one else can convince me
That I’m not in God’s good grace
For only he knows my heart
My intensions and meanings behind
What I do, what I say, what I feel
The intricacies of my mind
I have to make this journey
The best way I know how
Preserving my breath and heartbeats
For more than here and now
I will run if only in artifice
Walk head up and strong
Let the sun shine and weather the storms
Forgiving any wrong
What you do not see beneath me
Has abilities to impact and confuse
But when hate requests an entrance
I will always refuse

Let The Renovations Begin!

Renovations are expensive, mentally taxing, physically challenging and often take a lot out of you.You are now inspired and motivated,; now it’s time to get to work. The side note in this blog about coping and triggers is pertinent in this matter. (Check it out under subtitle ‘The Way’). When you are renovating your personal space, it is just that; personal. You are renovating according to your personal needs, wants and for comfort. If you are invested and ‘all in’ do not be afraid to smash down walls. Deal with those challenges head on and do not be afraid to say “I don’t like it”. You must speak up. You have to say what you want, what you like and don’t like. Why is this so important? You have to live with it.

Now you are changing walls, hallways, doors, windows, colors, textures and ambience. Lets evaluate:

Walls: Walls can provide privacy and keep people out or they can serve as a guardians or protectors but some spaces are too small and closed in. It’s okay to have a private space, everyone needs it but tear down walls they keep life out. The ones they keep you from feeling, breathing, loving and living.

Hallways: The paths that you decide to take. Choose your paths. Prioritize. Go back and look at your blueprint which is your list of goals. Decide where these paths are going to take you and how long or short you want them to be.

Doors: Go knock down and go thru any doors that are in your way. Pursue what you love and what fulfills you. Once you put up those new doors make certain that they can keep out what you don’t want and keep in what you do.

Windows: Windows allow the air and the light to come in. Make them big and beautiful. Don’t be afraid to let people look in and see where you’ve been, how far you have come and who you are now but always keep the option to close the drapes.

Colors: Choose colors that will enhance the spaces of your life. You need your calming hues, your colors that keep you motivated and creative, those that energize and those that help you to rest. Do your homework and choose those tones wisely.

Textures: Everyone needs variety. Texture of life are your activities that make up your life. Make time for fun, time with friends, time with family, time for you, love and most importantly make time to communicate with God, with the Creator. His presence provides a texture that is soothing, empowering, loving, comforting and ultimately the source of everything we are and can possibly be.

Ambience: Renovators spend a large portion of their budget on lighting because part of comfort and design is the ambience. Lighting can set the tone for the mood you want to be in or the look you want to have. A glow emanating can remind you of good feelings and spark a warmth inside. So always allow yourself to be enlightened, adjust the light and what you want it to highlight and always remember when in darkness to find the light.

For those that are joining us on this journey, after going back to read from the beginning of “My Poetic Life” Blog, ‘Starting from Here’; you will see that these analogies apply to life. This Inspiration-Motivation-Renovation-Innovation-Creation series is meant to do just those things mentioned. Happy journey to you.
